Who we are

Brief Profile

The Center for Dialogue and Cooperation among Civilizations (CDCC) was established in 2006 by a distinguished circle of Indonesian scholars and international-relations practitioners. It was born from a profound intellectual and moral imperative — among others, as a response to the "clash of civilizations" narrative that has defined much of the early 21st century.

The purpose of the Centre is to serve dialogue and cooperation among civilizations at large.

  • Promote awareness of social, economic, political, cultural and philosophical thought.
  • Highlight the human intellectual contribution and its impact on civilization.
  • Deepen dialogue and foster cooperation among various schools of civilization.

Held nine times since 2006, this biennial gathering convenes thinkers, peace activists, academics, religious leaders, policy makers and journalists to mainstream a moral movement for world peace.

Climate Action

Siaga Bumi — Movement to Save the Earth

Launched after the COP21 Paris event in 2015, mobilising religious leaders on climate change through education, campaigns and advocacy — including the Eco-Places of Worship program.

Global Moderation

Wasathiyah Islam Initiative

Launched at the 8th World Peace Forum in Solo (2022) to mainstream Wasathiyah Islam globally, guided by an advisory board of 17 Islamic figures from around the world.

An alliance of Indonesian Islamic organisations born of brotherhood with the Palestinian people, mobilising fundraising, mass rallies and strategic studies.
